| While on foot patrol Patrolman Andrew Reynolds had an unknown motorist make two attempts to run him down. After the second attempt Ptl. Reynolds commandeered a motorcycle and gave chase to the fleeing auto. He was found near death in a roadway in Flushing, the smashed motorcycle nearby.
Ptl. Reynolds was appointed to the NYPD on Nov. 1, 1948. |

| I did not know P.O. Reynolds personally. I was in the 7th grade with his daughter Jeannie at the time. This tragedy taught us all the most important lesson of that year. I have never forgotten. I served 27 years with the NYPD 1973-2000. REQUIESCAT IN PACE Angel Andrew J. Reynolds | ||||
